CLASS SCHEDULE

TUESDAY (First Class is November 20, 2007)
6:15pm BEGINNERS GIRLS GYMNASTICS Course 406 (Ages 9 and up)
An introductory program of artistic gymnastics. Flexibility, strength, and technique are introduced. This class is geared toward students with no previous gymnastics experience. Skills include headstands, forward rolls, backward rolls, handstands, cartwheels on the floor, and other basic moves on the beam, horse, uneven bars, and Tumbl-Trak.

WEDNESDAY (First Class is November 21, 2007)
10:15am MOVEMENT EXPLORATION Course 202 (3-Year-Olds)
For the child who demonstrates a definite independence from the parent, has an adequate attention span, and the ability to follow simple directions. Children learn to accomplish rolling, pre-cartwheels, simple vaults, hopping, jumping, landing, and locomotion in different directions. Swinging, balancing, and weight transfer on and off our equipment are additional themes covered in the curriculum.

5:00pm BALLET I Course 520 (Ages 6 and up)
Structured training in classical technique using a combination of RAD (Royal Academy of Dance), Italian, Russian, and French methods. Barre and center floor work will help provide strength, poise, balance, grace and flexibility. Character dance will be taught in Ballet II and III. It will help enhance rhythmic awareness and is a fun exploration into native folk dances.

THURSDAY (First Class is November 15, 2007)
10:15am MOVEMENT EXPLORATION Course 202 (3-Year-Olds)

1:15pm MOVEMENT EX AND ED COMBINATION Course 202/210(Ages 3 though 5)
Movement class for ages 3-5yrs allows siblings to take class together. Children will experience a theme each week and explore four different spaces with the theme. Our unique equipment and teaching technique allows children to think outside the box and accomplish physical skills that all lead to a balanced cognitive and physical experience. Children will enjoy jumping, swinging, climbing and playing with props while being guided and challenged by trained teachers. Gym Slippers Required.

FRIDAY (First Class is November 16, 2007)
1:15pm FIRST RHYTHMS DANCE AND GYM Course 510 (Ages 4 through 5)
offers young children creative fun movement and dance challenges. A story line and the use of various props will help give an introduction to age appropriate skills and rhythmic awareness that proceeds the formality and structure of ballet and gymnastics. Students will take magical trips each class through "The Enchanted Doorway" which is a dance program that inspires children's imaginations as they take adventures on a magic carpet, to the jungle, or under the sea. This class will also provide some movement education and time in our gym, which will help children work on their gross motor skills.

2:30pm CREATIVE MOVEMENT, TAP, AND GYM Course 540 (Ages 5 through 6)
Explores and develops each child's movement vocabulary through age appropriate gym exploration, dance, movement challenges, and tap dancing. Young students work on rhythm, coordination, pre-ballet skills, and creative expression.

3:45pm TAP Course 591 (Ages 6.5 and up)
Students will learn tap steps that will gradually be combined and sped up to create syncopated rhythms. Musicality and rhythmic patterns of the feet will be the focus.

SATURDAY (First Class is November 17, 2007)
11:30am BALLET I Course 520 (Ages 6 and up)

11:30am INTERMEDIATE GIRLS GYMNASTICS/WORKSHOP Course 411/443 (1.5 Hours)
Offered for the upper level student. Advanced challenges and sequencing of skills are worked on. Students must be able to focus and work independently on lead up skills to more challenging gymnastic elements. Teacher assessment is required.
