The Gerstung Philosophy

Our objective is to develop and provide an educational experience of learning through movement. As children learn to move, they are moving to learn and grow more capable of handling directions, managing challenges, exploring their creativity, and learning to think critically to find solutions. Our students become more responsible for their own actions, develop physically, and gain self-confidence.

At Gerstung, we do not coach, nor do we teach the subject, we teach the student, and accomplishment begins with the willingness to try. There is no exposure to failure – only achievement in small steps. Trying, learning from mistakes, and exploring one’s capabilities and limits, leads to mastering the task.

We do not push students to perform. The teachers interact with students, the students with the teacher and both adjust and grow through the process. We strive for more effort and more determination, for improvement to happen. Our students grow more capable, skillful, and confident.

When trying to accomplish goals in more than one way and achievement is experienced, our educational process is working, and learning takes place.
